According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, which is effective in the treatment of opioid use disorders (OUD) and can help some people to sustain recovery.

For someone struggling with an Opioid Addiction, life can be frightening and confusing for you and your family. You may have decided that it’s time to get help and you know that there are different types of treatment available, but the options may not be clear to you. One of the treatment types we can assist with is called medication-assisted treatment (MAT) or medication-assisted (Suboxone) program.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can make all the difference in a person’s recovery process. Since the inability to control or stop use is an indication of addiction, it can be almost impossible for someone to quit cold turkey, for a day – let alone forever. Having the assistance of MAT to help patients through this difficult time is very comforting and helpful, allowing the patient to begin work on behavioral treatment more quickly.

At MLCHC we establish clear goals, both general in nature and specific to each patient's needs. We will continue to monitor those goals, to make sure that our patients are progressing and committing to their recovery plan. If you have any questions about the MAT program please do not hesitate to contact us.

MAT (Suboxone) treatment is offered at both our Moses Lake and Quincy locations.
