First Steps Maternity Support Services

Welcome to First Steps Maternity Support Services (MSS). Our program is designed to help pregnant women receive the medical and social services they may need. All pregnant women covered under Medicaid are eligible for services. Our professional team offers a Registered Nurse, Nutritionist, Behavioral Health Specialist, Community Health Worker, and a Infant Case Manager who will advise and support you throughout your pregnancy. Depending on your circumstances our services may last until your baby’s first birthday. Women who have no medical coverage or partial medical coverage may also be eligible for First Steps.

  • Assistance in applying for Medicaid services
  • Information and education about pregnancy, labor and delivery
  • Diet and nutrition counseling
  • Information and education about baby care and parenting skills
  • Assistance in accessing dental and vision care
  • Childbirth Education Classes
  • Car seat safety check
  • Family Planning services
  • Assistance in obtaining paternity information
  • Assistance with housing and transportation
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Breastfeeding support
